The pickling line in the Paderborn plant of one of the most important pipe manufacturers in Europe - the Benteler Group – was expanded considerably in 2005.
Four 16 m long pickling tanks for sulphuric acid up to 60°C and an acid-proof KVK Laminate® coating, certified by TÜV to comply with the German Water Resources Act (WHG), has met all requirements for more than 7 years.
The exhaust air is extracted around the clock by a "push-pull system" directly from the baths and scrubbed of the sulphuric acid aerosols in a two-stage separator. In the process, permanent monitoring keeps an eye on all the relevant process parameters.
